Left tacked to a cork board

These words were left folded and tacked under another note on a cork board on the second floor of the art building somewhere around October 15th. The fact that who ever abandoned them took the time afix them out of harms way leads us to beleive that somehow thier situation changed, and they were no longer able to care for these words. As you can see there are many combinations here, some extremely coherent, but it is not important that these words be kept together in their present configuration, only that they be given a chance to be cared for and cherished in some context.

Hi Mark, yes please, you can tack them to that bulletin board. If you care to include any history about where or when they were found that might be meaningful to the person adopting them, please do!

Shelter for Abandoned Words

SAW provides a safe environment for words discarded and set adrift in the world with out the benefit of their birth contexts. Though these words are safe while at the shelter, we hope that all will eventually find permanent homes. Do you have more than enough context to share? We think you will find all of these words to be very flexible and eager to fit into any context you offer them, given the smallest effort on your part.

Please check this site often to learn about new arrivals at the shelter available for adoption.

As we approach the holiday season, SAW asks that you not give words as gifts unless you know the recipient is desirous of them. There are more words abandoned, often literally thrown away, after the Christmas Holliday than at any other time of year.

If you would like more information, or to adopt any words you see either on this site, or at our shelter (Clay Building, ground floor 6th street entrance) please write to: parallelu@gmail.com or post a message on this blog.

SAW will accept all and any abandoned words no questions asked. SAW does not discriminate on the basis of spelling, syllable count or correct usage.* If you have abandoned words you would like the shelter to care for and are not able to bring them physically you may mail them to:

*Because of budget, staffing and space restrictions SAW is currently able to offer refuge only to hand written words.
